Summary
PokerStars Review

PokerStars is the largest overall online poker room. They are also currently first in tournament poker. PokerStars has focused its energy on catering to growing base of tournament poker players.

They pioneered the latest trend in poker, satellite qualifying to major events. Satellites are pre-tournaments…

For example: The buy-in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is $10,000. A satellite would allow you to play in a pre-qualifying tournament in order to win your $10,000 WSOP buy-in. Instead of paying $10,000 you may choose to play against 100 other players who each put in $100. The winner receives the $10,000 WSOP entry.

PokerStars has taken the satellite concept to a whole other level. They offer satellites to every major poker tournament as well as their own record setting events. Since they have so many players you can often spend $5 or $10 and win World Series of Poker or World Poker Tour entries or cash prizes worth over $100,000.

PokerStars satellites gave 2003 & 2004 WSOP Champions Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer their seats and making them millionaires. Keeping with the tradition PokerStars qualified 1,200 of the 6,600 participants of this year’s WSOP.

PokerStars is now home to the last three WSOP Champions, Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer and Joe Hachem. The best poker players in the world call PokerStars home.

Pokerstars bonus information

PokerStars occasionally offers a 20% deposit bonus but uses a reward program as its main incentive. The FPP or frequent player points are awarded for real-money play and can be used to buy into special FPP tournaments, regularly scheduled cash tournaments or to purchase poker merchandise.

You can earn FPP points in two ways.
1) Playing in real money ring games.

One (1) Frequent Player Point (FPP) is awarded for playing in each raked game when the rake reaches:
· $0.50 for fixed limit games with stakes $0.50/$1.00 and lower
· $0.75 for fixed limit games with stakes $1/$2
· $1.00 for pot limit games, no limit games, and fixed limit games with stakes $2/$4 and higher

2) Playing in real money tournaments.

Five (5) FPPs are awarded for each $1 in tournament fees paid.

PokerStars will often hold super-satellite tournaments that will allow you to use your FPP points to win your way into World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour events. They also have a weekly schedule of cash tournaments with FPP buy- ins.

Daily Satellites to Sunday $250,000 Guaranteed Tournaments
Entry: 500 FPPs
Date: Twice Daily
Time: 2:15 PM Eastern Time and 10:00 PM Eastern Time
Sit & Go Tournaments to Sunday $250,000 Guaranteed Tournaments

Weekly Limit Holdem FPP Tournament
Entry: 50 FPPs, with a prize pool of $250.00

Monthly Limit Holdem FPP Tournament

Bonus Program summary- While PokerStars may not compete with other sites when it comes to initial cash bonuses, their FPP program more than makes up for initial cash by offering a steady long term reward for playing. Whether you play low limits, high limits or tournaments you'll find your frequent player points building up and you'll be ready to cash in on all that PokerStars has to offer.
